Abstract

INTRODUCTION:
This technical note describes a new arthroscopic technique to repair the peripheral attachment lesion of the posterior horn of the medial meniscus. The operation was performed under arthroscopy using a standard anterior portal.
 
SURGICAL TECHNIQUE:
A FasT-Fix needle was inserted obliquely close to the tibial plateau and the first implant was inserted into the joint capsule depending on its bending angle underneath the meniscus. The second implant was inserted through 1/3 periphery of the meniscus into the meniscocapsular area. The pre-tied self-sliding knot was tensioned to achieve secure fixation of the posterior meniscal peripheral attachment at the original attachment point.
 
MATERIALS AND METHODS:
From August 2011 to February 2014, 23 knees were diagnosed as ramp lesion, underwent meniscal repair using FasT-Fix technique.
 
RESULTS:
All patients were followed up for average 14 months. The Lysholm score improved from preoperative 64.4±4.52 to postoperative 91.2±4.60.
 
CONCLUSIONS:
We believe that the FasT-Fix technique via the standard anterior portal can be a more convenient and less traumatic alternative for repair of the peripheral attachment lesion of the posterior horn of the medial meniscus in the anterior cruciate ligament deficient knee.



Resumen

INTRODUCCIÓN:

Esta nota técnica describe una nueva técnica artroscópica para reparar la lesión adjunta periférica del cuerno posterior del menisco medial. La operación se realizó bajo artroscopia mediante un portal anterior norma.
 
Técnica quirúrgica
Una aguja Fast-Fix se inserta oblicuamente cerca de la meseta tibial y el primer implante se inserta en la cápsula articular en función de su ángulo de flexión por debajo del menisco. El segundo implante se inserta a través de un tercio periferia del menisco en el área de meniscocapsular. El nudo de la auto-deslizante pre-atado se tensa para lograr una fijación segura de los datos adjuntos periférica del menisco posterior en el punto adjunto original.
 
MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS:
Desde agosto 2011 a febrero 2014, 23 rodillas fueron diagnosticados como lesión rampa, fueron sometidos a reparación meniscal utilizando la técnica de Fast-Fix.
 
RESULTADOS:
Todos los pacientes fueron seguidos durante promedio de 14 meses. La puntuación de Lysholm mejoró de 64.4 ± 4.52 preoperatoria a postoperatorias 91.2 ± 4.60.
 
CONCLUSIONES:
Creemos que la técnica de Fast-Fix a través del portal anterior estándar puede ser una alternativa más conveniente y menos traumática para la reparación de la lesión adjunta periférica del cuerno posterior del menisco medial del ligamento cruzado anterior de la rodilla deficiente.
